Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern your membership and participation in activities at Tunbridge Wells Curling Club (the “Club”). By becoming a member or participating in any Club activities, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1. Membership:
- 1.1 Application: Membership applications are subject to approval by the Club’s committee.
- 1.2 Membership Fees: Membership fees are payable annually or as otherwise specified by the Club, typically by entering leagues. Non-payment may result in suspension or termination of membership.
- 1.3 Membership Categories: The Club may offer various membership categories, each with its own associated rights and privileges. Details of these categories and fees are available from the Club.
- 1.4 Guest Participation: Guests may participate in Club activities subject to payment of guest fees and adherence to these Terms and Conditions.
- 1.5 Code of Conduct: All members and guests are expected to adhere to the Club’s Code of Conduct, which promotes sportsmanship, respect, and fair play. This code will be displayed in the club, and/or provided upon membership.
2. Use of Facilities:
- 2.1 Booking: Use of the ice and other Club facilities is subject to availability and booking procedures established by the Club.
- 2.2 Equipment: Members and guests are responsible for using Club equipment safely and responsibly. Any damage to equipment caused by negligence will be the responsibility of the individual concerned.
- 2.3 Safety: Members and guests must comply with all safety instructions and guidelines provided by the Club.
- 2.4 Footwear: Only appropriate curling footwear is permitted on the ice. Clean footwear must be worn in the club house.
- 2.5 Food and Drink: Food and drink consumption may be restricted in certain areas of the Club. Please adhere to posted notices and instructions from Club staff.
3. Liability:
- 3.1 Assumption of Risk: Curling involves inherent risks. Members and guests participate in Club activities at their own risk.
- 3.2 Limitation of Liability: The Club, its officers, and volunteers shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by members or guests, except in cases of proven negligence.
- 3.3 Personal Belongings: The Club is not responsible for the loss or damage of personal belongings.
- 3.4 Insurance: Members are advised to obtain their own personal accident and liability insurance.
4. Conduct and Discipline:
- 4.1 Disciplinary Action: The Club’s committee reserves the right to take disciplinary action against members or guests who violate these Terms and Conditions or the Club’s Code of Conduct.
- 4.2 Suspension/Termination: Disciplinary action may include suspension or termination of membership.
- 4.3 Complaints: Complaints should be submitted in writing to the Club’s committee.
5. Data Protection:
- 5.1 GDPR Compliance: The Club will comply with all applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- 5.2 Data Use: Member data will be used for Club administration, communication, and promotional purposes.
- 5.3 Consent: By becoming a member, you consent to the Club’s use of your data as described in its Privacy Policy. This policy will be provided upon membership or available on the Club’s website.
6. Amendments:
- 6.1 Changes: The Club reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time.

- 10.2 Member Consent: Members who do not wish to be photographed or filmed should inform the club in writing.
11. Alcohol and Substance Policy:
- 11.1 Responsible Consumption: Responsible consumption of alcohol is permitted within designated areas of the club.
- 11.2 Illegal Substances: The use of illegal substances is strictly prohibited.
